We offer 24/7 heat pump repair for York County homes, in both heating and cooling modes. We work on central heat pumps and ductless heat pumps from all major brands.
In a York County winter, a heat pump does most of the work of heating your home, so small problems show up fast. A system that runs nonstop, blows lukewarm air or keeps leaning on its backup heat can often be traced to airflow, the defrost controls, the outdoor fan or the refrigerant charge. Some frost on the outdoor coil is normal, and the defrost cycle should clear it. An outdoor unit that stays covered in ice, or a system that seems stuck in defrost, needs a look.
Older heat pumps can lose heating capacity in deep cold. Newer cold-climate models, like Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat ductless systems, are rated to heat down to -13°F. Learn more about heat pumps.
Regular-hours visits start with a $109 diagnostic, waived if you approve the repair.
Common heat pump problems we repair:
We also repair boilers and ductless mini-split systems.
Please note: we service residential systems only, and we don’t service systems homeowners installed themselves.
📍 YORK, PA
Early this heating season, a York homeowner called us about a Trane furnace that wasn’t putting out any heat. The furnace was showing an error for not seeing flame and had locked itself out. When our tech pulled the burners, they were rusted, and that rust was keeping the flame from carrying across to the flame sensor. They cleaned the burners, the flame sensor and the condensate trap, then put everything back together and checked its operation. The furnace is heating normally again.

📍 YORK, PA
On a mid-October call in York, our tech looked at a Goodman gas furnace with a couple of issues worth knowing about. The temperature rise across the furnace was 70F, while the data plate lists a range of 35-65F. In other words, it was running hotter than it was designed to. They increased the airflow, which brought the rise down to 55F. The control board’s history also showed a no-flame fault, so they pulled and cleaned the flame sensor. After that, the furnace was operating as it should.
If you notice any of these, a technician can diagnose the cause. A yearly furnace tune-up can help catch some of these problems early.
Furnace won’t turn on or there’s no heat. This often points to a power, ignition or safety-switch problem.
Blowing cold air. Possible causes include an airflow problem, an ignition or flame sensor fault, or a safety shutoff after the furnace overheats.
Not enough warm air from the vents. Weak airflow can come from a blower motor problem, a clogged filter or duct issues.
Turning on and off repeatedly. Short cycling can come from airflow, thermostat or sizing issues. Learn why your heater keeps turning on and off.
Unusual noises or smells. Banging, squealing or burning smells can mean a part is wearing out or failing.
Uneven heat or cold rooms. Rooms that stay cold can point to airflow or blower problems.
Heating bills rising without explanation. A furnace that isn’t working as it should may run longer to heat your home.
